
Mustafa Karabağlı
Born in Tire in 1966, Karabağlı completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown
before attending Kuleli Military High School in 1980. He graduated from Middle East Technical
University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1989 and simultaneously
completed his Master’s degree at Dokuz Eylül University while working in the private sector as an
R&D engineer.
He founded Star Elektronik in 1991 and co-founded AR Elektronik Ltd. Şti. in 1992. In the early
2000s, he focused on the development of smart electricity metering technologies. In 2008, he
created the LUNA brand, which soon became the leading smart meter manufacturer in Türkiye and a
prominent player in the Middle East and Balkans. In 2022, LUNA entered into a strategic partnership
with a major Swiss industrial company specializing in integrated energy management solutions.
Today, he continues to lead growth and value-creation initiatives under Karabağlı Holding, which
operates across multiple sectors through the following companies:

He is also actively engaged in civil society and has held roles in organizations such as TÜSİAD,
BASİFED, ESİAD, EBSO, EGEV, and İAOSB.
He is married with two children. His personal interests include bridge, billiards, football, and reading.
